Denton ISD officials announced Thursday, Jan. 29, that schools and district facilities will stay closed for Friday, Jan. 30.

In a statement, Denton ISD officials said that assessments showed conditions remained unsafe in many areas across the district.
"Many residential streets and secondary routes traveled by our students are still hazardous and could pose risks for school buses and for families driving to campuses," officials said in the statement. "In addition, despite the diligent efforts of our Operations team, some school parking lots and surrounding access roads have not fully thawed."
