Denton hot dog food truck El Perro Loco temporarily closes

El Perro Loco, a food truck serving Los Angeles-inspired hot dogs, temporarily closed at the end of  September.

The details

Owner Chris Childers, his family and the grill team announced the closure in a Facebook post. Citing economic challenges and Childers undergoing an emergency surgery, the team said they need to reallocate their time. 

“For now, we need to focus on our family, recovery and figuring out the best path forward for the business,” the Facebook post states.

The menu offered a wide variety of gourmet hot dogs, loaded fries, elote and southwestern breakfast fare. 

The food truck  relocated  in August next to the Holly’s Gardens and Florist parking lot off Sherman Drive.

What’s next

Childers’ surgery put him out of commission for two months or so, according to the post.

“Our hope is that this is only temporary and that, when circumstances allow, we can fire up the grills again and get back to serving Denton,” the team wrote, adding that they were thankful for their customers’ continued support.
