Arvato, a third-party logistics supplying company, has begun operations in Denton and will further expand with a new plant, according to a March 30 release from the company.
The overview
Arvato ensures that critical technology components are moved safely, securely and on time from a manufacturer to facilities assigned to that manufacturer, said Astrud Peco, Arvato's communications manager.
Arvato specializes in the handling of sensitive hardware, including servers, graphics processing unit infrastructure and networking equipment for artificial intelligence infrastructure companies and cloud services providers.
Some of Arvato’s services include high-security warehousing and careful deliveries into active data centers and data centers under construction, Peco said. One of the reasons Denton was selected as an Arvato site was because Dallas-Fort Worth is also one of the largest data center markets in the United States, and its proximity to I-35 and Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.
“Denton was the right fit when we started evaluating this market looking at connectivity, proximity and reliable infrastructure. The region is genuinely growing, and we wanted to be a part of that,” said Andreas Podwojewski, the managing director of Arvato North America and Brazil.
Podwojewski added that within 13 days of securing Arvato’s first Texas location in Denton, the company was operational with its first client at the new site.
Zooming in
According to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, the 270,000-square-foot facility will undergo $1.3 million in renovations starting June 1, with an estimated completion date of Aug. 31. The Arvato outpost will be located in northwest Denton at 3331 FM 1173.
“Denton gives us the platform to deliver that kind of performance at scale, and with a business community that welcomed us from Day 1, our goal is to grow alongside this community and the clients building the next generation of AI infrastructure here,” Podwojewski said.
The site will also have room for expansion, according to the news release. Peco said markets like Dallas-Fort Worth are emerging as major hubs because of land availability, energy infrastructure and connectivity with major airports and highways.
