Bonnie Brae Street in Denton is undergoing an 8-mile, $146 million multiyear renovation project that will create a median-divided, four-lane road with a 10-foot-wide walk-and bike trail and streetlights along both sides of the roadway.
The project’s third phase is scheduled to finish in September and the sixth phase should be complete in April 2027, Capital Projects Director Seth Garcia said.
Work began on the seven-phase project in 2017 and stretches from Vintage Boulevard to US 77. Two phases are already complete. The new lanes and median will improve safety and increase capacity, and the median gives the city room to convert into two additional lanes if needed, Garcia said.
