A new kids activity park in Denton will be opening in the fall off East McKinney Street and Loop 288.
What’s happening
Urban Air Adventure Park is in the construction phase of its first Denton location. Dev Ray, the owner of the facility, said opening an Urban Air in Denton made sense from a business perspective.
“Denton is one of the [fastest-growing] cities [in the area] and really doesn't have spaces like this here,” he said.
Urban Air is for kids ages 2-18 and will feature dedicated playground areas for younger kids as well as high-energy attractions for older youth and teens. The space can accommodate 400 guests at a time, Ray said.
Other features include:
- Climbing walls
- Obstacle courses
- Trampolines
- Event spaces
All the activities are designed to promote healthy lifestyles by making exercise fun and engaging, according to the company’s website.
What else?
The facility will have 10 private birthday party rooms, which are climate controlled, that can also be rented out for adult or corporate events, Ray said.
The Denton location will bring 35-50 part-time and full-time jobs, he added.
According to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, the facility will cost $1 million to build.
