The Texas Fine Arts Theater on the square is slated for a mid-September reopening, said Jason Reimer, who is the creative director and co-owner of Aviation Cinemas and the operator for the Texas Theater and Texas Fine Arts Theater.
The theater has been undergoing renovations since 2024, per previous Community Impact reporting. The improvements will repair water and structural damage and add a full bar on the second floor and concessions on the first floor, Reimer said.
The renovations will also add two two-story theaters with 240 downstairs seats and 50 upstairs seats, Reimer added.
The theater will be used as an art facility that can host film screenings and live performances, Reimer previously told Community Impact.
