Richardson officials announced May 24 they are implementing a modified holiday schedule for public facilities and trash collection May 29 because of the Memorial Day holiday.

The details: According to a city press release, there will be no trash, recycling, or brush and bulky item pickup provided May 29. In order to make it up, recycling collection will be moved to the day after its regular pickup day. No makeup days are planned to be scheduled for trash or brush and bulky item pickup, according to city officials.

Also of note: In addition, a number of city facilities will be closed Memorial Day. These include the Richardson Animal Shelter, Richardson Municipal Court, the Charles W. Eisemann Center, the Richardson Innovation Quarter headquarters, the Richardson Public Library, the Richardson Senior Center, the Richardson service center, and both the Huffhines and Heights recreation centers.

The Richardson Gymnastics Center is expected to be closed May 27 and 29. According to a city press release, Sherrill Park Golf Course is expected to be in operation under normal hours, while the tennis center will be open from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
