Peregrine Coffee Roasters now open in Richardson’s Communion Neighborhood Cooperative

Holmes said Peregrine focuses on “black coffee done right” by prioritizing sourcing, roasting and preparation of espresso offerings. Peregrine avoids artificial ingredients and makes almost everything in-house, he said, including handmade syrups, fresh-brewed chai, and in-house caramel.

“It’s a far more labor-intensive process, but we know people can genuinely taste the difference,” Holmes said in an email.

Holmes highlighted specialty coffees like blood orange vanilla latte and blood orange mocha, as well as the “thunderbolt,” a sparkling vanilla espresso lemonade. In addition to coffee, Peregrine also serves cream sodas, lemonades and fresh-juiced ginger beer.

Peregrine also sells bags of whole bean coffee in-store and online, with grinding available upon request.

What’s next

Holmes said Peregrine is working on a new barrel-aged coffee collaboration with neighboring Lockwood Distilling Company and also aims to expand its roasting operations in Richardson.

“The long-term vision is for this location to become a larger hub for Peregrine in the Dallas area, including roasting, collaborative events and expanded coffee offerings,” Holmes said.
