Applications for a spot on the Richardson City Council ballot are now available


Residents interested in running for a seat on Richardson City Council can now pick up an application at City Hall.

Each position on Richardson City Council, which includes the mayor and six council members, will be up for grabs during the May 4 election. In Richardson all council members are voted at-large by voters; however, candidates running for places 1-4 must reside within their respective district areas.

Applications for a spot on the ballot are available at the city secretary’s office, 411 W. Arapaho Road, Room 202, Richardson, and will be accepted from Wednesday, Jan. 16 until Friday, Feb. 15 at 5 p.m.

Elections in Richardson are held every two years. Candidates may serve up to six terms or 12 consecutive years. For more information, visit
