Prosper council OKs Godwin Parkway construction agreement

Construction is set to begin soon on Godwin Parkway, a new roadway that will directly link Dallas Parkway with the Gates of Prosper.

At its Aug. 12 meeting, Prosper Town Council approved an agreement with the Prosper Economic Development Corporation and Blue Star Land outlining reimbursement for the design and construction of the new roadway.

The details

Godwin Parkway will run through the Gates of Prosper development, connecting Dallas Parkway to Bravo Way, a new planned road next to Richland Boulevard.

According to town documents, the four-lane road will be constructed in two phases:

• Phase 1: Dallas Parkway to west of BNSF railway, anticipated completion by August 2026
• Phase 2: BNSF railway to Bravo Way, anticipated completion TBD

Prosper is set to contribute $1 million toward Phase 1 construction costs, with an additional $250,000 for design contingencies, and the Prosper Economic Development Corporation will provide another $1 million, according to town documents.
