In a nutshell
Prosper Town Council members approved a $660,000 contract to design an approximately half-mile stretch of Coleman Street during a June 25 meeting.
The designs will include replacing the existing two-lane asphalt road with a two-lane concrete road and on-street parallel parking spots. Aside from the roadway itself, designers will also work on:
- Storm drainage systems
- Public water and sanitary sewer utilities
- Standard median landscapes with irrigation
- Street lighting
- Pavement marking and signage
- Erosion control
- Traffic control
The estimated cost to reconstruct the road is $8 million and will be recommended to the bond committee as a potential project to include in the 2025 election, according to meeting documents.
