Construction will start on Celina’s Fire Station No. 4 in November.

Celina City Council approved a contract for a new fire station that will serve the east side of the city at a meeting Oct. 14.

The details

Crossland Construction will build Fire Station No. 4 for about $11.4 million.

The company was already set to build the fire station but council needed to approve a new contract because costs of the facility increased from $9 million to $11.4 million. This is largely due to additions to the plans recommended by Fire Chief Shawn White.

The facility will be built on about 2 acres of the 23-acre emergency services campus. When complete, the facility will be 15,725 square feet, including:
  • Three bays for fire trucks
  • A training tower
  • Individual dorms
Future stations could be modeled after Fire Station No. 4, which could save money on design costs, Assistant City Manager Kimberly Brawner said.

Fire Station No. 4 cost about $815,000 to design.

What’s next?

The plan is to break ground on the facility in November with a potential completion date in late 2026.
