Celina City Council is moving forward with plans to form a bond committee that could recommend a May 2026 bond election to fund public safety, park and downtown projects.

At its Aug. 12 meeting, City Council members directed staff to begin the process, with the committee set to begin work in September.

The details

If the bond goes to the ballot and wins voter approval, a variety of projects could be funded across multiple city departments.

Some of the projects up for consideration include:
  • Fire and police stations
  • An emergency dispatch center
  • Phases of Wilson Creek Park construction
  • Reconstruction of downtown square

What’s next?

The committee will meet from October through December, present recommendations in January 2026, and City Council will decide in February whether to call the May 2 bond election.
