Celina officials are considering an expansion of the city’s Uptown masterplanned community.

Celina City Council tabled a development agreement to expand the Uptown community until its July 8 meeting. The council voted to table the item because the agreement wasn’t finalized in time for the council’s June 10 meeting.

The details

The new portion of the community is to be called Glen at Uptown and will bring in an additional 125 single family homes, according to city documents.

The development will also add another 41 acres to Celina from the city’s extraterritorial jurisdiction.

Rockhill Capital and Investment, the developer behind the proposed project, announced the neighborhood in a social media post in January.

What else?

Residents already live in several neighborhoods throughout the Uptown community. More neighborhoods are in the works in the development.

In the Heights at Uptown, 232 new homes are planned. The largest part of the community is The Ranch at Uptown, which just opened in early June. It includes more than 1,000 homes.
