Celina City Council members approved a $2.53 million contract with engineering company Dunaway Associates for the first phase of designs for the park during their Aug. 21 meeting.
The details
Plans for Wilson Creek Park, located at the northwest intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Roseland Parkway, have been discussed since 2022, according to meeting documents.
- September 2022: Dunaway Associates is hired to create a master plan for the park.
- September 2022-January 2023: Initial site information and community feedback are gathered.
- March 2023: Community input is compiled, and a final concept plan is created.
- May 2023: The preliminary master plan is presented to Council.
- June 2023: The park master plan is finalized.
- July 11, 2023: Council adopts the master plan.

- Lighted diamond fields
- Custom restroom and concession building
- Lighted multiuse fields

- Nine-hole disc golf course
- Landscape and irrigation
Also of note
Layout plans for the park show it will be flanked by future residential areas and an elementary school, according to meeting documents. Plans also feature a future fire station.
