Prosper and Celina voters have the opportunity to participate in various races in the May 3 election, including Celina ISD’s bond program, Celina City Charter amendments and various elected positions at the city and school district level.

At the polls

About 4.7%—29,051 of 611,738 registered voters—in Denton County submitted their ballots during the early voting period, which ran from April 22-April 29.
In Collin County, 54,292 voters have cast their ballots during the early voting period. This is approximately 7.5% of the county’s registered voters, according to the Secretary of State’s website, which show 728,053 registered voters in the county as of January.

  • Celina City Charter amendments: Celina voters will decide on 10 amendments to the Celina City Charter, including council term limits, city manager hiring decisions and the mayor's role and authority.
  • Celina ISD board of trustees: Celina ISD had five candidates for its two open board seats. Candidates for Place 1 include Meagan Dungan, incumbent Chuck Hansen and Vicky Hogue.   • Celina ISD bond: The district's $2.3 billion bond program will be split into two propositions. The bond program includes items for new schools and purchasing land as well as transportation and technology needs in the district.
