The Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously recommended approval of a new proposed single-family development that could see 766 homes built and 427 acres annexed into the city.
City Council will consider the development plans at its Oct. 14 meeting and decide if they can move forward.
The details
Builder D.R. Horton plans to construct the homes near Preston Road and the future Legacy Drive.
The neighborhood is set to include trails, dog parks, a sports field and swimming pools, as well as an amenity center, according to city documents.
Multifamily housing is also part of the long-term plan, though only single-family homes are under consideration now.
What they’re saying
“Master Planned Communities with great neighborhoods, quality amenities, trail connections, and high value mixed use along Preston fits the vision,” Development Services’ DirectorDusty McAfee said in an email.
