2. Ked's Ice Cream, Waffles & Crepes
The ice cream shop specializes international ice cream flavors, such as Arabic gum, fig, malai, durian and sesame seed, among others. Along with global flavors, Ked's serves classic flavors such as chocolate, birthday cake, cookie dough and tutti frutti.
3. Sport Clips
The chain specializes in haircuts for men and boys, and also offers beard grooming, steamed towels and neck and shoulder treatments.

4. 1418 Coffee
Co-owner David Bryant said in an email the company is close to beginning construction, which is expected to take approximately three to four months. The coffee shop will be located near downtown Celina at the corner of Preston Road and Ash Street.
5. Capo’s Pizza & Pasta
The menu will feature New York-style pizzas, fresh pasta, sandwiches and more.
6. Mo' Bettahs
Founded in Bountiful, Utah, Mo' Bettahs offers a traditional plate lunch, featuring a choice of meats—grilled teriyaki chicken or steak, kalua pig, pulehu chicken, katsu chicken or shrimp tempura—paired with the macaroni salad and white rice.
7. REI Co-op
The 23,848-square-foot store will be located in the Gates of Prosper shopping center just next to Carhartt, which opened in November. REI offers a wide selection of equipment and apparel for outdoor sports and activities, including camping, hiking, cycling and climbing.
8. Thai 360
The restaurant will feature Thai dishes such as red curry, chicken satay and Thai noodles, according to its website.
9. Turbo Metabolic Training
The exercise facility features 45-minute high-intensity group workouts, strength training and cardiovascular conditioning, according to its website.

10. Shades of Green
The business has closed its nursery at 7401 Coit Road in Frisco, according to the business’s social media. The company will now operate exclusively from its Celina location at 1213 E. Sunset Blvd.

11. Knockouts Haircuts & Grooming
The sports-themed, full-service salon offers haircuts, coloring, waxing, massages and more. According to the filing, construction on the business is expected to be completed in March.

12. 7-Eleven
The Celina City Council approved a specific use permit for the gas station at a Jan. 13 meeting. According to a presentation by city staff, the new gas station will help meet high demand as the intersection expands. Concept plans for the gas station include six gas pumps, two electric vehicle charging stations and a 4,800-square-foot convenience store.
13. Huntington Bancshares
Huntington Bancshares shared an Oct. 27 news release stating that it would acquire Cadence Bank, which has 390 locations throughout the southern U.S. The release states that with the acquisition, Huntington will not close any existing Cadence Bank branches. According to the Cadence Bank website, there are 14 locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, including in Celina, Plano, McKinney and Southlake.
14. CareNow Urgent Care
Medical City Healthcare has purchased 13 CommunityMed urgent care centers in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, according to a news release. The former CommunityMed locations will be absorbed into CareNow Urgent Care, Medical City Healthcare’s urgent care brand.
