Plano drivers should seek alternative routes in certain areas of the city because of two projects.

Road closures along Jupiter Road, just south of East Spring Creek Parkway, began May 8 and will end May 16, according to a city news release. Parkwood Boulevard construction will have closures May 16-17 and May 20-21.

What you need to know

Per the news release, northbound traffic will be diverted into the two inside lanes just south of Bill Crawford Circle, while southbound traffic will be reduced to one lane starting at the intersection of Jupiter Road and East Spring Creek Parkway. Construction along Jupiter Road will allow for the road to be cut open, which will allow new wastewater lines to be installed.

Improvements to the wastewater infrastructure are part of the city’s Community Investment Program, which monitors the city’s infrastructure needs.

Construction along Parkwood Boulevard will allow for the application of asphalt overlays between Plano Parkway and West Park Boulevard. Southbound travel lanes will be fully closed May 16-17, and northbound travel lanes will be closed May 20-21, according to the news release.
