Some Plano recreation classes will resume and libraries will reopen for limited browsing as the city prepares to expand access to its facilities in the month of July.

The city announced this week a number of facilities and programs that are set to resume as it continues to loosen restrictions imposed during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The Plano Event Center will be among the first facilities to reopen on July 1, along with the Courtyard Theater, Amphitheater at Oak Point and Cox Playhouse. A schedule of art programs is available here.

Outdoor recreation classes will also resume at the start of the month at Plano’s public parks.

In-person recreation classes at the city’s recreation centers are expected to resume July 6. The recreation centers, which have recently been open to members only, will also reopen to daily guests on that date.

Libraries will reopen July 6 at limited occupancy. Visitors will be allowed to enter, browse the offerings and check themselves out. The library system will also begin accepting donated materials. Porchside pickup will still be offered. To learn more about library policy, visit the library system's website.
