Lonnie Jordan is taking over as Plano ISD’s new athletic director, the district announced in a news release.

What you need to know

Jordan is joining PISD after serving as Highland Park ISD’s athletic director and Richardson ISD’s athletic coordinator. He was also the head football coach at RISD’s Lake Highlands High School and has 29 years of experience working in high school athletics.

Jordan replaces Jeff Smith, who was PISD’s athletic director from 2020 until January 2024, when the district announced that he would be leaving for Prosper ISD.
