The city of Plano today celebrated being named the third best city to live in the country and the best place to live in Texas, according to Money Magazine.

Plano Mayor Harry LaRosiliere joined Jamee Jolly, president and CEO of the Plano Chamber of Commerce and chef Tre Wilcox, owner of Tre Wilcox Cooking Concepts and Julia Pearl Southern Cuisine at downtown Plano's McCall Plaza to cite what factors led the city to be named best of the best. Among those factors were business owners, community members, developers, city employees, teachers and public safety officers.

"We're a big city and a strong community," LaRosiliere said. "[We are] a city of 270,000, [but] it feels like you know your neighbors and those around."

LaRosiliere also said Plano is proven to be a magnet for businesses because the city is an ideal place for families and individuals to call home.

LaRosiliere, Jolly and Wicox also presented a sign at the event marking the two recognitions from Money Magazine.
