At their Sept. 15 meeting, Plano planning and zoning commissioners unanimously approved a replat for six single-family lots located near the intersection of 17th Street and I Avenue.
Commissioner Michael Brounoff noted concerns about noise from nearby train tracks but said the property’s location limits its potential uses.
“I recognize that building houses across the street from a train track is not ideal, but given the neighborhood, I don't know what else they can do with this land except build houses on it,” Brounoff said. “It’s a residential area.”

The item was originally scheduled for a Sept. 2 vote but was tabled to give the applicant more time to review the average setbacks of nearby properties on I Street, according to city documents.
