The overview
The upcoming job fair is set for May 28 from 9-11:30 a.m. at the Sockwell Center, which is located at 6301 Chapel Hill Boulevard, Plano.
Attendees will need to fill out a registration form online. On the form, attendees can select which positions they are interested in from the following options:
- Elementary certified teacher
- Secondary certified teacher
- Teacher assistant
- Substitute
- Food services, transportation, facilities
The district approved its compensation plan for the upcoming school year last month, which included raises for first-year teachers and support staff.
Teacher starting salaries will increase from $60,002 to $61,000, and current staff and teachers are set for 3% raises.
Raises for hourly employees in hard-to-fill positions will also be increased. Minimum pay for bus drivers will increase from $22 to $24 per hour, while minimum pay for bus driver assistants and self-contained paraprofessionals will increase from $15 to $17 per hour.
