In the race for the State Representative District 92 seat, incumbent Republican Jonathan Stickland beat opponent Democrat Tina Penney, receiving 21,964 votes or 63.63 percent of the votes cast, with all precincts reporting. Penney tallied 12,553 votes or 36.37 percent of votes.

Stickland, owner of a oil and gas consulting business, supports limited government, transparency, limiting regulation and pro-life. He made national headlines in 2013 with the passage of House Bill 2268, the first law passed in the nation protecting individuals' email and electronic privacy from search without a warrant on the state level.

Challenger Tina Penney resides in the Hurst-Euless-Bedford area and has been employed with the North Central Texas Council of Governments, City of Fort Worth and now works at her family's company. She worked with federal, state, county, and local levels of government; non-profit agencies; neighborhood organizations and businesses. She also created and monitored multi-million dollar annual budgets, and developed and oversaw the accomplishment of goals for social service, economic development, housing, parks and infrastructure programs.

District 92 serves part of Tarrant County, including Euless, Hurst, Bedford and Arlington.

The Texas House is made up of 150 members representing districts of approximately 167,000 people each. Representatives serve unlimited two-year terms.
