A winter storm warning is in effect for Collin County. A mixed precipitation of cold rain, snow, sleet and freezing rain is expected to begin Thursday morning and continue through Friday morning. Road conditions are expected to develop Thursday morning before worsening midday Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

A decision for closing schools on Friday has not yet been made. District officials will continue to evaluate weather conditions. Updates will be made through the district’s website, social media channels and local news outlets.
The district’s Jan. 9 closure will be made up April 28.
