1. SH 5 utility relocations

Project: Relocation of existing water and wastewater mains ahead of planned SH 5 reconstruction project by the Texas Department of Transportation.

Update: The contractor has substantially completed all utility relocations south of Eldorado Parkway. Construction will continue to progress north through the downtown area.

2. Virginia Parkway and Eldorado Parkway street rehabilitation

Project: Reconstruction of failing concrete panels and broken curbs along Eldorado Parkway between Ridge Road and US 75, and Virginia Parkway between Stonebridge Drive and US 75. New pavement markings and concrete joint sealants will be installed.


Update: Reconstruction continues on Eldorado Parkway. Reconstruction work on Virginia Parkway is expected to begin in 2026 after Eldorado Parkway is complete.

3. US 380 and Community Avenue intersection improvements

Project: Improvements slated for the US 380 and Community Avenue intersection include additional turn lanes and traffic signal improvements.

Update: Traffic signal construction is nearly complete and utility relocation is nearly complete. Roadway construction is expected to begin in the next few months.

4. Infrastructure improvements along Lela, Jones, Foote and Bradley streets

Project: Renewal of substandard infrastructure including streets, drainage and utilities will take place at various segments.


Update: Street paving is underway on Jones Street and Foote Street with completion expected by the end of the year. Utility construction is nearly completed along Lela Street, and street paving is expected to begin in 2026.
