Local projects
The city is still working to reach an agreement with a private developer regarding the construction funding of this project. Design work is 25 percent complete and is scheduled to continue as the city and developer work to reach an agreement. Timeline: TBD
The city is widening Lake Forest Drive from two lanes to four lanes from Wilmeth Road to Bloomdale Road. A portion of Bloomdale east of the intersection of Bloomdale and Lake Forest will also be reconstructed. As of Dec. 15 the project is 30 percent complete, and city officials said crews have most of the drainage and utilities work done and are finishing up dirt work. Timeline: September-June
The city of McKinney completed work in June that constructed an additional lane in each direction along Lake Forest Drive from SH 121 to McKinney Ranch Parkway. A turn lane for traffic traveling east on McKinney Ranch and turning right onto Lake Forest was added to McKinney Ranch, and a turn lane for traffic turning left from eastbound SH 121 to northbound Lake Forest was also added.
Regional Projects
Construction is 99 percent complete as of mid-December to widen US 380 from Lovers Lane to Custer Road. US 380 is being widened to a six-lane divided roadway. In the meantime, construction continues to widen the roadway from Lovers to CR 26, which will be six lanes. Timeline: September 2014-December 2016 (Lovers to Custer), September 2015-December 2018 (Lovers to CR 26)
Coit Road and Westridge Boulevard construction
Construction to extend Coit Road to Rockhill Parkway and widen part of Westridge Boulevard is 70 percent complete as of mid-December. The Coit Road extension will be four lanes. Westridge is being widened to four lanes. Timeline: June-March
