Third Monday Trade Days advertises itself as one of the oldest and largest monthly trade days in North Texas, with roots that trace back to the countywide market that operated in the 1870s in McKinney. Third Monday Trade Days is located in the historic Buckner Community, which was the first county seat of Collin County, the website states.
Karen Lewis with Third Monday Trade Days said for the time being the land has not been sold, but she confirmed the market is closing. The closing announcement was also posted on the market’s website.
“The property’s pivotal location would be more productively used and beneficial to the community as a whole and the city if used by businesses open daily rather than used by a business that is open only three days a month,” the website states.
The market operates over the Friday, Saturday and Sunday before the third Monday of each month and is open Nov. 12-14. It is home to vendors who sell items ranging from home decor, clothing and accessories to antiques and food concessions. 972-562-5466. www.thirdmondaytradedays.com
