Frios Gourmet Pops has permanently closed its storefront in downtown McKinney.

Owner Robert Penn said the business suffered cancellations in the time of the new coronavirus and was unable to maintain its space at 106 N. Chestnut St., McKinney.

Like many other businesses, Frios has changed its model to adapt to the virus. The store now offers deliveries as a pop-up vendor and dessert catering service. The business also continues to accept orders online, Penn said.

He said he is looking forward to when the virus is over and events can be held again. When that happens, he expects Frios will be there as a vendor, he said.

Earlier access to some of the now most-widely available forms of CARES Act aid, such as the Payroll Protection Program, would have helped make a difference for his business, Penn said.

“Unfortunately, that didn’t line up for us,” he said. 214-856-5114. https://frios-pops-mckinney.business.site/
