1. Plano Balloon Festival
Community members are invited to a weekend of sky-high fun at Plano’s 47th annual Balloon Festival.
The HEB Central Market Plano Balloon Festival features more than 35 hot-air balloons, live music, evening glows and family activities. The event will also feature food trucks, fun games and multiple live exhibitions by the Texas Parachute Team. The festival will be held at Oak Point Park and the Red Trail Pavilion.

2. Grapefest in Grapevine
Explore Texas winemaking at the 40th annual GrapeFest on the streets of downtown Grapevine. The festival will include food and drink, live music, entertainment for all ages, the mayoral grape stomp, people’s choice wine tasting and the champagne cork shoot-off.
GrapeFest offers free admission all day Sept. 17 and free entry before 5 p.m. Sept. 18.

3. Oktoberfest at Denton County Brewing
Kick off this year’s Oktoberfest traditions early at the Denton County Oktoberfest beer festival at Denton County Brewing Co.
At the family-friendly event, guests can enjoy specialty beer poured specifically for the holiday, festive music all day, games, prizes and German-inspired food.
4. Movie night in Frisco
Watch "Brave” on a large screen in Frisco’s PGA District. Attendees can bring a blanket, but chairs are prohibited. Pets must be kept on a leash at all times.

5. McKinney Farmers Market
From locally roasted coffee and home-baked goods to candles, art and memorabilia, the McKinney Farmers Market offers a family-friendly shopping experience. The weekly event features 75 locally sourced vendors.
