Why are you running for this office?

It has been an honor to serve McKinney’s District 3. Over the past four years, we’ve strengthened public safety, lowered property tax rates, increased senior homestead exemptions, improved infrastructure, and added 4,000 jobs. With your support, I’ll continue working to preserve our history, foster innovation, and ensure McKinney’s bright future.

What is the No. 1 challenge facing the residents of McKinney? How do you plan to address this issue?

We must work with state legislators to restore local control over the 45 square miles left in our ETJ, where the population is growing without equitably contributing to taxes that fund roads, libraries, and parks. Restoring local control is crucial to ensuring McKinney’s long-term financial stability.

In your opinion, what is the biggest development or project underway in McKinney right now, and what impact will it have on the city and residents?

The expansion of McKinney National Airport is the most significant project underway. It will drive economic growth, attract new businesses, and create sustainable jobs while enhancing regional connectivity. By boosting tourism and expanding our commercial sector, this project will provide long-term benefits for residents, businesses, and McKinney’s future development.

What are some new ideas or programs you would like the city to explore?

We will continue expanding our newly created Community Land Trust, providing homeownership opportunities for young families, graduates, and seniors. I’m also committed to workforce development, partnering with MISD, Collin College, and the Economic Development Corporation while expanding the Innovation Fund to create jobs in emerging fields like AI and cybersecurity.

Why are you running for this office?

I love this city, I have been involved for many years, and I believe I have a good grasp of the issues that are important to District 3. I want to be a positive voice for my constituents.

What is the No. 1 challenge facing the residents of McKinney? How do you plan to address this issue?

Our main challenge is rapid growth. We have to be smart about housing, employment opportunities, and growing our commercial tax base. I want to make sure we maintain our high safety record. And finally, we have to focus on aging infrastructure while building the new.

In your opinion, what is the biggest development or project underway in McKinney right now, and what impact will it have on the city and residents?

Honey Creek is going to bring in well over 10,000 new residents. The impact on the city will be positive as long as we are prepared with infrastructure, good jobs, enough first responders, and plenty of places for our new neighbors to spend their money here at home.

What are some new ideas or programs you would like the city to explore?

Besides Downtown and Hub 121, we still need a large retail/restaurant space that will attract foot traffic in the day and have entertainment & dining at night—think big! I would also like to see more hiking & biking trails & more places to play.
