Changes are coming to three McKinney ISD schools as renovation projects kick off this summer.
The McKinney ISD Board of Trustees approved spending nearly $6.86 million on upgrades to school facilities at a January meeting. The three schools that will see improvements are Bennett Elementary, McKinney Boyd High School and Evans Middle School.

The funding for all three projects will come from the 2021 bond, according to district documents.
District officials are spending approximately $4.96 million on Bennett Elementary School, which will go toward plumbing, fire alarm system replacement, painting, drywall and other miscellaneous repairs. McKinney Boyd High School will see approximately $1.1 million in upgrades, including new plumbing, millwork, drywall, framing and other miscellaneous repairs.
District officials will spend about $803,000 on work at Evans Middle School, which includes painting, doors, bleachers and general construction. All work will begin on the last day of school, which is May 21, per district documents.
