McKinney ISD is reporting coronavirus cases among staff members and students on a weekly basis from a COVID-19 dashboard on the district's website.
The dashboard details total lab-confirmed cases of the virus by school and building as well as the number of released cases, which indicates that a person who tested positive has completed the required 10 days of self-isolation, is free of fever for 24 hours and no longer has symptoms. The dashboard is updated every Friday by 4 p.m.
MISD, along with other Texas school districts, will soon be required to report COVID-19 cases to the state.
The Texas Education Agency has announced an upcoming online reporting tool of COVID-19 cases that will be required for every school district. The first reporting deadline for districts is Sept. 8.
