The dashboard details total lab-confirmed cases of the virus by school and building as well as the number of released cases, which indicates that a person who tested positive has completed the required 10 days of self-isolation, is free of fever for 24 hours and no longer has symptoms. The dashboard is updated every Friday by 4 p.m.
MISD, along with other Texas school districts, will soon be required to report COVID-19 cases to the state.
The Texas Education Agency has announced an upcoming online reporting tool of COVID-19 cases that will be required for every school district. The first reporting deadline for districts is Sept. 8.
As of Aug. 28, there were three total cases among MISD staff and two among students, according to the district's dashboard.
