The restaurant will be located on the south side of West University Drive on a 1.92-acre site in the area of the West Grove development, according to city planning documents.
The gist
Planning documents show a roughly 6,600-square-foot building will be constructed, which will include a bar as well as an outdoor patio space.
The menu at Chuy’s features a mix of Tex-Mex dishes including enchiladas, tacos, burritos, flautas, quesadillas and more. Other menu items include fajitas, soup, specialty sauces and margaritas, according to its website.
“We’re excited to bring Chuy’s to McKinney and introduce guests to our one-of-a-kind take on Tex-Mex, featuring fresh, made-from-scratch dishes, signature ‘ritas, and our famous creamy jalapeno sauce—all served in a fun, eclectic atmosphere,” Fitch said in an email.
Founded in Austin in 1982, Chuy’s restaurants were acquired by Orlando-based Darden Restaurants in the summer of 2024. Darden’s portfolio includes brands such as Olive Garden and LongHorn Steakhouse.
There are 10 existing North Texas-area Chuy's locations, including ones in Frisco and Plano, according to the company’s website.
