Union Bear Brewing Co. will soon serve beer, burgers and more at its new location in Historic Downtown McKinney, a company representative confirmed.

The restaurant, a concept of 33 Restaurant Group, is the third Union Bear location, joining locations in Denton and Plano, according to its website. The restaurant will open at 11 a.m. April 8.

On the menu

Beers served at the restaurant include those brewed by Union Bear staff, including the Union Bear Light, a lager; the No Coast IPA; the UB Pomegranate Blueberry Sour; a variety of ales; and more. The drink menu also features hand-selected spirits, cocktails including frozen drinks, and a wine list.

The restaurant’s kitchen serves a variety of snacks and shareable items such as pretzel bites, Texas smothered fries and Korean fried chicken wings. Other menu items include flatbreads, sandwiches, burgers, salads and entrees such as black pepper and lemon chicken as well as sausage rigatoni.

The context

A rezoning request was approved in early 2023 to enable the redevelopment of the site that the restaurant was built on. The construction work including redeveloping a building on that site was formerly a hardware store and a grocery store.
