Chicago-based fast food burger chain McDonald’s will begin construction on a new McKinney location in July, according to documents filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. Construction is scheduled to complete Dec. 31, 2025, the filing states.

The fast food chain, known for menu items such as the Big Mac and Quarter Pounder, currently operates roughly 6 locations in McKinney, according to its website. Another location opened on city's western border in November, and an additional location is planned for the northwest corner of Virginia Parkway and Custer Road, according to city documents.
