Kolache Factory is opening soon in McKinney, according to a news release from the company.

The business offers kolaches, a Czech pastry that features sweet or savory fillings in a semi-sweet dough, according to its website. Sweet pastry fillings offered include apple, cherry, strawberry and cream cheese. Savory pastry fillings offered include bacon and cheddar cheese, chicken enchilada, pepperoni pizza, egg-based fillings and more.

Other menu items offered at Kolache Factory locations include cinnamon rolls, muffins, croissants, coffee drinks and more, according to its menu.

The business’ first location opened in Houston in 1982 and has since grown to over 60 company-owned and franchised locations across nine states, according to its website. The McKinney location will be owned and operated by new franchise-owner Emily Chen, the release stated.

“Kolache Factory is all about bringing unique flavors and a family-friendly dining experience to every neighborhood,” Aaron Nielsen, director of Franchise Development for Kolache Factory, said in the release. “We are excited to grow in the [Dallas-Fort Worth] area and see Emily bring her business acumen and passion for our brand to McKinney, a city known for its vibrant and growing family-centric community.”
