A groundbreaking ceremony was held May 10 on one of Collin County’s largest office projects: McKinney’s first Class A multi-tenant office building.

The eight-story, 200,000-square-foot office building will include a structured parking garage, flexible conferencing space, a tenant lounge, an outdoor amenity space, a golf simulator and a fitness center with private locker and shower rooms.

“We’re thrilled to be leading the development and strategic vision of this project,” Derrick Evers of Kaizen Development Partners said in a news release. “We are fortunate to have the best partners to combine with our knowledge, experience and skillsets to create an office workplace built for the future.”

The office building will be located at the northeast corner of SH 121 and Alma Road, and will also have walkability to the surrounding District 121 mixed-use development that will include retail and restaurants and a one-acre park area.

“These offices will bring unprecedented economic development to Collin County,” said Peter Tokar III, the president and CEO of the McKinney Economic Development Corp. in the news release. “Kaizen is hitting the mark in creating a space that will support companies and build the community in McKinney for generations to come.”

The office building is expected to open in May 2022, with JLL marketing the building. For more information, visit www.kaizendp.com/projects/district-121-mckinney.
