The city of McKinney on Tuesday announced the resignation of McKinney Economic Development Corp. President Darrell Auterson. Abby Liu will serve as interim president for the MEDC, according to a news release. Liu has worked as the MEDC executive vice president since 2010, according to the MEDC website. “I have had the pleasure of working with an extremely dynamic board and city," Auterson said in the release. "I appreciate the opportunity I have had over these past couple of years to lead the MEDC. However, my wife and children reside back home in Pennsylvania and my return is necessary in light of a health issue affecting our family.” Auterson began as president of the MEDC in July 2016. “Darrell has served the MEDC and McKinney community well during his tenure as president," MEDC Chairman Jason K. Burress said in the release. "McKinney’s strategic position in economic development is more focused and has tremendous momentum due to Darrell’s and our board’s efforts. Our board has great respect for Darrell and the meaningful projects and strategic victories we have achieved in McKinney in the past couple of years are reflective of the vision of this board and hard work and dedication of our excellent staff.”
