Work on Holos House is underway in downtown McKinney.

The shop will be the first retail location for Holos House Design, an interior design and construction firm. The company, which offers interior design, remodeling and construction services, is owned by downtown McKinney residents Rachel and Daniel Brasch.

Rachel Brasch, who serves as the principle designer and creative director for Holos House Design, said the new storefront will serve as an office and meeting space for the company while also offering decor and retail items.

“With Holos House, the idea of it ... is that we’re able to be a part of every part of the home, from design to construction to furnishing to maintenance, to even just the idea of practicing and encouraging hospitality in our community,” Rachel Brasch said.

The storefront will feature furniture displays and offer decor items such as dishware, barware, linens, pillows, bedding and more. The shop will reflect the company’s “eclectic European” design style, Rachel Brasch said.

The location will also feature studio space that will be used to host workshops, tea times and other events, Rachel Brasch said, noting that she wants the business to be involved with events held downtown.

“We have ... a big heart for community building and hospitality, so I want that to be a theme that's woven into everything that we do,” Rachel said of welcoming people into the shop.
