A new Kroger Marketplace is now open in Melissa, according to a news release from the company.

The Kroger location is the city’s first grocery store, the release states, and the first new Kroger Marketplace built in North Texas since 2019. Work on the store began in September 2023 following a groundbreaking ceremony.

The 123,000-square-foot, $36 million store includes various departments such as grocery, produce, floral, meat and seafood, and pharmacy. The store also includes a Starbucks kiosk, a fuel center and an expanded general merchandise section with home goods and apparel, the release states. The grocery store also supports more than 300 jobs.

“We are excited to open the new store in the city of Melissa, one of the fastest growing cities in North Texas,” Kroger’s Dallas Division President Keith Shoemaker said in the release.
