The Clubhouse Indoor Golf offers a customizable golfing experience in McKinney, co-owner Logan Lawrence said.

The business is family-owned, Lawrence said, and offers six golf simulation bays with a selection of virtual golf courses. The simulators also offer swing analysis and feedback to golfers. Two of the bays offer additional virtual sports such as soccer, bowling and disc golf.

The backstory

The business opened in East McKinney in spring 2023. Lawrence said he and the other co-owners decided to open an indoor golf facility because of the weather in Texas.

“You get more bad weather months than good weather months in Texas,” Lawrence said. “It’s either too hot, too cold, too rainy or too windy so we figured indoor is where you are going to be a majority of the time in Texas.”

Patrons are encouraged to book online or call ahead, especially if the weather is bad.

“Anytime it rains, we fill up real quick,” Lawrence. “We’re open all the time, but we specialize as a bad weather business.”

What’s special about it?

The business offers memberships but customers can also book one of the bays for an hourly rate ranging between $40-$60 that accommodate up to four people.

Lawrence said some new golfers enjoy The Clubhouse because the bays offer more privacy than a driving range, which can help build confidence as they learn the game.

Additionally, The Clubhouse provides an experience closer to what it would be like on an outdoor course compared to golfing experiences and simulators that are offered by competitors, Lawrence said.

“What you get in here is what you get on the course,” he said.

What else?

The Clubhouse Indoor Golf also offers a food and drink menu, featuring beer, mixed drinks, and shareable plates such as pretzel bites and mini corn dogs. It also serves flatbread pizza, sliders and quesadillas.

The Clubhouse also offers a two-man scramble league with weekly prizes and a prize for the overall winner. A scramble is a team-based version of golf where team members hit and take the better of the two shots.

While The Clubhouse does have clubs and other equipment available to rent at no additional costs, patrons are encouraged to bring their own gear. Walk-ins are welcome, Lawrence said, but added that reservations, which can be made online or over the phone, are encouraged.
