Anthem Music is opening soon in Historic Downtown McKinney.

The business will offer music lessons with instructor Dan Brady.

Brady, who formerly worked in IT, began offering music lessons in 2016. He offers lessons on a variety of instruments including piano as well as woodwind and brass instruments, but specializes in guitar and other string instruments.

Brady previously offered lessons at students’ homes but said opening the physical location will allow him to spend more time with students.

“I enjoy when I'm actually in front of students,” he said. “The majority of my time right now, unfortunately, is spent driving [from] place to place.“


Anthem Music also offers other services including piano tuning and repair, music equipment sales and event performances in partnership with Cory Brooks Music, according to its website. Brady has also worked as a consultant, offering guidance for private schools and homeschool groups looking to offer music instruction.

A grand opening event for the business is scheduled for July 18 and will include live music, Brady said.

“It's a great spot,” Brady said of the business’s new location. “It's very, very eclectic, and [the] downtown community is steeped in culture. I'm very excited to get started out there.”
