Luxury Elite Garages, an automotive condominium development, is coming to McKinney.

A rezoning request to allow for the project was unanimously approved by McKinney City Council members at an April 16 meeting.

The details

The project includes the development of five buildings that include 64 automotive condominium units on a roughly 4.6-acre site at the southwest corner of Virginia Parkway and Hardin Boulevard.

The units will act as an automotive storage facility but will also include personal space, Director of Planning Jennifer Arnold said at the meeting.

The units will be customizable and range in size from 960-1,320 square feet, according to city documents. The units will be predominantly available for sale, said Jim Riggs, representing the developer of the project, at the meeting.

Also of note

The approved rezoning request unanimously allowed for the development of automotive garage condominiums as a land use, which did not previously exist in the city’s code of ordinances, according to city documents.

The zoning request also noted specific activities that would be prohibited on the site, including:
  • Outdoor storage
  • Outdoor maintenance, construction or major repairs
  • Prolonged substantial noise
  • Overnight stays in the units
