Dallas-based Novos Fiber installed fiber broadband services for its first McKinney customers Feb. 21 after announcing a $20 million expansion into the city.

The big picture

The company began installing a fiber network several months ago, according to a company news release. The company is offering initial services to a significant portion of homes located within the 75070 and 75072 ZIP code areas, Novos Fiber CEO Andrew Snead said.

Service is anticipated to expand to other communities in the coming weeks and months, according to the news release.

"We're delighted to be building in McKinney,” Snead said in a statement. “It's an incredibly vibrant and fast-growing city, and we're excited to bring residents high-speed fiber internet with our promise of fairness, transparency and a genuine focus on the customer experience."

Some context

Snead co-founded Novos Fiber with Melker Sandberg in 2022. The company aims to bring fiber broadband to communities where there isn’t any today, Snead said.

“We have a strong set of beliefs around the need for fairness and transparency in the way that we work and with a very strong centricity around customer experience,” he said. “We’re trying to do things in the right way and serve our customers in the right way.”

Novos Fiber offers internet service in three tiers with speeds ranging from 300 megabits per second to 2.5 gigabits per second. For more information, go to www.novosfiber.com.
