Crews will be spraying for mosquitoes in areas of Flower Mound and Highland Village after samples tested positive for West Nile virus.

In Flower Mound, spraying will be done Aug. 23-25 in the 6200 block of Madeline Lane, according to a news release. This is the first positive test in the town this season. Spraying will occur between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., weather permitting, within a half-mile square radius of the affected area, the release stated.

Residents living in the affected area will be alerted by the community notification call system. Community signs will be set out at major intersections in the affected area, according to the release.

In Highland Village, crews will spray for mosquitoes Aug. 21-23 in the Sellmeyer Lane and Murray Park area, according to a news release.


Spraying will be done in the morning hours. Crews will concentrate along creeks, drainage culverts and wet wooded areas.
