Five Lewisville ISD schools are closed and classes are canceled from Jan. 20 through Jan. 24 as a result of high positive COVID-19 cases among teachers and staff.

Bridlewood Elementary School in Lewisville, Lillie J. Jackson Early Childhood Center in Lewisville, Indian Creek Elementary School in Carrollton, Morningside Elementary School in The Colony and Creek Valley Middle School in Carrollton will all be closed, according to the district.

The school district put out a notice on each of the schools' websites informing parents and students that classes will not be taught remotely, but canceled altogether. The Extended School Day program and speech services are also canceled.

According to the notices, the district and school administrations believe the closures are the best option for staff and students as they “cannot assure our schools are being successfully run day to day with so many campus-level staff out.”

Breakfast and lunch grab-and-go meals for each day will be available for students at alternative locations. Students from Bridlewood Elementary can pick up meals from Downing Middle School. Students from Indian Creek Elementary can pick up meals from Arbor Creek Middle School. Students from Morningside Elementary can pick up meals at Peters Colony Elementary School. Students from Creek Valley Middle School can pick up meals at Hebron Valley Elementary School. Students from Lillie J. Jackson Early Childhood Center can pick up meals at their regular campus.

Classes are scheduled to resume Jan. 25.
