Sfereco, an Italian-style restaurant featuring meatballs as its primary menu item, is slated to open by the end of May in the former Cavalli Pizza space on West Church Street in Old Town Lewisville. The Lewisville City Council approved an economic development package in March that offers the developer up to $20,000 for improvements to the restaurant site plus tax grants for the restaurant operator. The approved grants will equal 75% of the local sales tax and city mixed-beverage tax receipts for the first five years and 50% of those tax receipts for the following five years.
Lewisville Economic Development Director Jason Moore said permitting and renovations are underway at the site. Improvements are planned for the patio and green space on the west side of the building.
Sfereco, which is owned by Refined Hospitality Concepts, has an existing location in The Statler in downtown Dallas. In addition to Lewisville’s Old Town, another location will open soon in Flower Mound.
